In anticipation of the Eurovision, the public organization KyivPride prepared a map of places friendly to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people. The places are, in particular, restaurants, cafes, shops and clubs in Kyiv, which hosts an international song contest this year.

As reported by the press-service of KyivPride to the Human Rights Information Centre.

“A tolerant and inclusive society is more favorable for the development of business and economic growth of the country. Such society ensures that workers feel comfortable in the workplace and as for the product or service consumers, they buy not simply a product, but also company’s values”, – noted the organization.

The friendly places map is made for the comfort of Eurovision guests in English and has both an online and an off-line form.

The Map have joined restaurants and coffee shops, such as: Druzi café, Trattoria Pesto Azzurro, Club-café Cupid, PR-bar, Rozumna Kava (Smart Coffee), Boulangerie, Harms, One love coffee, Ostannia Barykada (Last bariccade) and other Dima Borysove’s restaurants. Shops: Vsi Svoi, LUSH, Thrift store ‘Laska’, Vikno u dvir (Window into the yard), Galerie and others.

The Map stays open for the bigger business that shares the values of non-discrimination and respect for the human rights. If you would like to join, pleas fill out the application form.

You can also download the sticker “We are friendly” at KyivPride website for free and distribute it at your establishment.

The initiative has been supported by Coalition for Combatting the Discrimination in Ukraine and International Foundation Renaissance.

As a reminder, KyivPride2017 and March of Equality will take place in June 2017. During KyivPride the business breakfast for inclusive companies will be organized at British Council in Ukraine. Progressive companies that support the equality policy at the workplace will share their experience.
