The Institute of Mass Information (IMI) has created a mobile app “SOS for journalists,” which contains a detailed description of violations of media workers’ rights and information about working within the ATO.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, journalists received a mobile application “SOS for journalists” (J-SOS) for their professional holiday.

The mobile application contains all the necessary information on the rights of journalists: the relevant legislation, the list of journalists’ rights, and a detailed description of the different ways in which journalists’ rights are violated.

It also clearly describes a sequence of actions to be taken in case a journalist’s rights are violated, along with a sample report for the police.

An interactive map of violations in shows places where violations have been reported along with the number of violations. One can add a violation through a “SOS message.”

A special section, “Working in hot spots,” contains infographic about the specifics of the work in the area of the ATO.

“J-SOS” can be downloaded for free from Google Play to mobile gadgets running on OS Android.

The creation of the Mobile Application “SOS for journalists” (J-SOS) was supported by the American human rights organization Freedom House in the framework of a project by the IMI Media Watch Network.
