The representatives of Ukrainian Inter TV channel have appealed to President Petro Poroshenko for protection.

They claim that the activists of the Azov Civil Corps, who have blocked the premises of the channel, exert pressure on the journalists. The appeal was posted on the Inter’s website.

Inter TV channel appeals to you as the guarantor of the Constitution of Ukraine and asks to intervene in the situation regarding the events that have taken place near the premises of the TV channel today,” reads the statement.

As said, about 10 a.m., a group of people surrounded the premises of the channel, having blocked the entrances and exits. Due to the action, the TV crews failed to go to the shooting, and the staff could not get to work.

The statement says that the blockade participants tried to get to the office, threw trash at it and painted it with black paint.

We believe that the individuals, who block the work of the channel, exert psychological pressure on the employees of the TV channel with such actions,” reads the statement.

Previously, managing editor of the channel Russian citizen Maria Stoliarova found herself at the center of a scandal after she had sworn during the live broadcast of the commemoration of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred from the Independence Square in Kyiv.

February 24, the woman was fired from TV channel. In the evening of the same day, Stoliarova was expelled from Ukraine.
