Svitlodarsk is left without electricity after militant shelling

Militants opened fire 24 times on the Ukrainian positions, mainly in Mariupol and Donetsk areas, in the past 24 hours.

This was reported by ATO press center on their Facebook page.

Press center also informed about the new details of combat clashes in the area of Svitlodarsk arc.

On the morning of December 18 militants began artillery preparation with the use of mortars and cannon artillery.

As reported by ATO headquarters, militants have repeatedly opened fire on the ATO forces located in Svitlodarsk arc and adjoining settlements with the use of 122mm-caliber artillery and 120mm-caliber mortars.

“As a result of shelling civil infrastructure and power lines were damaged. The town of Svitlodarsk and surrounding villages were left without electricity. Late at night, three artillery shells exploded near a school in Luhanske”, – said in the statement.

Moreover, militants have fired in the direction of Donetsk, in particular, they fired upon Luhanske and Avdiyivka villages, with the use of 122mm-caliber artillery and 120mm-caliber mortars.

Militants have shelled Shyrokyno village, in the area of Mariupol, with the 122mm-caliber artillery. Talakivku, Vodyane, Hnutove and Shyrokyno villages were shelled with the use of mortars of various calibers. Pavlopil was under fire from small arms. Mariyinka was under sniper fire. Shyrokyno was under attack by tank.

Militants have shelled Ukrainian positions with mortars in Troitske, in the Luhansk area. Novooleksandrivka was under attack from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. Syze, Zhovte and Stantsiya Luhanska were uunder fire from small arms.
