Police shoot dead resident of Kryve Ozero town in Sumy region

A resident of Kryve Ozero town in Sumy region Oleksandr Tsukerman, who was allegedly murdered by six policemen, died from gunshot wounds.

 

This is the conclusion of the forensic medical examination carried out by the Mykolayiv regional forensic bureau on Wednesday, August 24, the Novyny of Mykolayiv news portal reports.

As stated in the forensic medical examination act, the cause of death was “acute internal bleeding, traumatic heart failure.” At least four gunshot wounds, allegedly from a traumatic gun, were found in the body of the deceased.

According to the expert, the gunshots were fired at close range. Two bullets were found in heart, another one stuck in the lungs.

At the same time, as stated by Advisor to the Ukrainian Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko, a policeman, who killed Tsukerman, fired not from a service gun.

According to him, the investigative actions are currently ongoing, and a gun, used to kill the man, has not been found yet.

He added that a notice of suspicion would be served against a policeman, who abused his power and fired from a traumatic gun, today.

In turn, Head of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze decided to disband the police department in the Kryve Ozero town in Mykolayiv region after the murder of a local resident.

Dekanoidze went to Kryve Ozero to personally oversee the progress of the official investigation.

On the night in August 24, 32-year-old Oleksandr Tsukerman was killed in Kryve Ozero town in Mykolayiv region during the detention. According to the police, the deceased offered resistance so the police used “physical force and handcuffs.” Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko said that three policemen, suspected of beating the man, were detained.
