Ukraine’s Office of the Military Ombudsman has launched a survey in the Army+ app on military vaccination, the office’s press service reported. The results will help better organise the prevention of infectious diseases in the military units.

The office is collaborating with Ukraine’s Ministry of Health and other departments to prepare service members for the epidemic flu season. How much vaccination helps depends largely on whether service members are willing to get vaccinated.

Therefore, a survey on vaccination in the military has been created in Army+. Service members are urged to share their attitudes towards vaccinations. The responses will help determine what information about vaccines they lack.

“There are widespread notions that vaccination is bad, that vaccines are of poor quality and that they are allegedly supplied to the military past their expiry date. We want to overcome the stigma and distrust of vaccinations. After all, vaccination is one of the most effective preventive measures against hepatitis B, tetanus, rabies and acute respiratory viral infections, especially flu,”
Lesia Kishchuk, chief specialist at the Department for Protecting Service Members’ Rights, said.

Based on the survey results, additional briefings will be prepared for medical services on how to answer questions and dispel doubts more easily. The Office of the Military Ombudsman is also initiating explanatory sessions for personnel and will prepare recommendations for better organising vaccinations in military units.

The Office of the Military Ombudsman previously created a guide to payment programmes for service members in “hromadas”, local government areas that include one or more nearby settlements.

In early May 2026, the Office of the Military Ombudsman launched a contact centre for service members’ appeals regarding violations of their rights during their service. Calls are accepted at 1510.
