Accountability in war: Ukraine’s experience and global implications
The Australian National University’s (ANU) Centre for European Studies, in partnership with ANU Law School, is pleased to invite you to a special event on Ukraine’s efforts to ensure accountability for war crimes and their global implications. The discussion will feature members of Ukraine’s negotiating team involved in the drafting of the Statute of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine and the Convention establishing an International Claims Commission for Ukraine, alongside other experts.
While some portray Russia’s war in Ukraine as solely a European matter, this event will probe that assumption. In doing so, it will shed light on the global implications of Ukraine’s pursuit of accountability for aggressive war.
Time of the event: Wed, 11 Feb, 9 am – 11:30 am AEDT.
Venue: Lectorials 1 and 2, Research School of Social Sciences, 146 Ellery Cres, Acton ACT 2601, Australia.
