The Human Rights Centre ZMINA is warning of fake emails being sent in its name to civil human rights organizations, particularly to Belarusian diaspora communities in Europe, including Poland.

“We want to inform you that such letters were recently sent to human rights organizations, particularly to Belarusian diaspora communities in Europe. We have no connection whatsoever to this mailing. We do not involve private individuals in the collection of sensitive information and never make requests outside of our official channels,” the statement said.

In addition, the human rights organization reminded recipients that it sends all official communications exclusively from addresses ending in @zmina.ua.

ZMINA has also asked anyone who receives such emails to report them to the organization at: info@zmina.ua.

For reference: ZMINA Human Rights Centre is a Ukrainian non-governmental organization that monitors human rights violations, provides legal assistance to victims, and advocates for the protection of fundamental freedoms in Ukraine. The organization has been particularly active in documenting war crimes and human rights abuses during Russia’s war against Ukraine.
