FSB behind Dzhemilev’s Ban on Entrance to Crimea
The decision to ban the leader of the Crimean Tatar people from entry to the peninsula was made by the FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation). The FSB has noted the paperwork of the respective resolution is missing.
This was posted by Moscow lawyer Mark Feygin on his Twitter page, where he also published a document confirming this information.
The FSB Office for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol responded to Feygin, saying that “the decision to ban M. Dzhemilev from the territory of the Russian Federation was made by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.”
“My sad job as a representative of Mustafa Dzhemilev bore results. Finally. He was banned from entering by the FSB!” wrote Feygin.
Mustafa Dzhemilev was denied entry to Crimea for 5 years on May 2nd.
On July 5th, the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, was also forbidden to enter the territory of the Russian Federation for 5 years.
On October 31st, Dzhemilev’s lawyer, Mark Feygin, filed suit in Moscow’s Basmanny Court to overturn the entrance ban. In February, the Federal Migration Service of Russia refused to acknowledge the authorship of the document which banned him.
