Two Crimean Tatars, Memet Salimov and Osman Ibrahimov, went missing in annexed Crimea.

Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Nariman Dzhelyalov posted this information on his Facebook page.

At about 21:00, August 21, Memet Salimov (born in 1986) told his parents that he went to his friend Osman Ibrahimov (born in 1988). After a while, the parents could not reach him on the phone. Then the phone happened to be switched off. As it turned out, Osman went missing,” Nariman Dzhelyalov writes.

“As Memet’s parents tell, he worked as a driver at a local hospital, he was not engaged in public activity, he was not involved in criminal activities, he always kept in touch with family. He did not plan to go anywhere, all his documents are at home. The police have already started to search for him,” Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis notes.

According to unconfirmed information from the parents, Memet Salimov and Osman Ibrahimov could have been abducted and now might be illegally detained by the unknowns in or on the outskirts of Simferopol, Nariman Dzhelyalov says and asks those, who have any information, to report.

He also reminded that 45-year-old resident of Simferopol Mukhtar Arislanov went missing on August 27.

Later, Nariman Dzhelyalov informed that the missing young men had been found dead.

As I have been just informed by the national movement’s member Mustafa Khairov, Memet Salimov and Osman Ibrahimov, who went missing on August 21, were found stabbed to death today at 13:00. The bodies were buried near a cafe in Bohdanivka village near Simferopol,” reads the message.

He also specified that, according to investigators, it was domestic murder, which was committed as a result of clash after drinking alcohol.

As reported, the Ukrainian government helps Crimean residents, living in Russian-occupied Crimea, to defend their rights and freedoms in the European Court of Human Rights.
