Italian illustrator ‘beats’ Jolie and Madonna to protect women
Italian illustrator Alexsandro Palombo edited the photos of famous actresses and singers to show them with bruises to draw attention to the gender-based violence.
The social project of Palombo shows how Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristen Stewart, Emma Watson, and Kim Kardashian would look like if there were beaten, The Daily Mail reports.
The author would like to remind that every woman, regardless of social status, even a celebrity can become a victim of domestic violence.
“Life can be a fairytale, if you break the silence” – such a slogan was used by the artist to urge women to report on cases of violence.
“The key accomplice of violence is silence. Silence kills and maims women every year, changing their lives forever,” Palombo noted.
“Domestic violence is social cancer which knows no boundaries and can affect everyone, without exception, regardless of social status – an ordinary person or a celebrity. The antidote to this social cancer can be the voice of the people, open discussion of problem, and its joint settlement,” the artist added.
Earlier, the Human Rights Information Center reported that the majority of women, raped in the ATO area, had died.
