The High Council of Justice of Ukraine (HCJ) has refused to dismiss Oleh Bevza, the judge of the Bobrynets District Court of Kirovohrad region, who revoked driving licenses of the Automaidan activists in 2013.

This was stated by chairman of the HCJ Ihor Benedysiuk, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

On Thursday’s meeting, the HCJ considered the findings of the disciplinary section and ad hoc commission on checking the judges of courts of general jurisdiction in the case of judge Bevza.

The HCJ members refused to make recommendation on dismissal of the judge to the Verkhovna Rada following the results of the secret ballot. Six members voted for dismissal of Bevza, eight voted against.
