The police reform can be reduced to nothing if the courts rule to reinstate the law enforcement officers, who were denied re-certification, in their positions.

This was stated by Head of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze, Radio Liberty reports.

I feel the revenge of those officers who have not been recertified. Almost all of them have filed the lawsuits. The closed court sessions are held one by one, and I am very afraid that the old judicial system will do everything to destroy the police reform,” she said.

The Head of the National Police said that two judgments on reinstatement of the Interior Ministry employees, who had been denied re-certification, have already been delivered.

However, there may be a greater number of such judgments as the appeals against the decisions of the recertification commissions started to be filed with the courts just three weeks ago,” she said.

People, who were engaged in extortion and banditry, cannot find themselves outside the police system. They want to come back to continue doing that in the already updated police,” Dekanoidze added.

As a reminder, 13% of police officers in Kyiv and 19% of officers in Kyiv region lost job after the work of certification commissions.
