Chief expert in MH17 crash case was target of assassination attempt – military prosecutor’s office

The Military Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine claims it has detained a man, who tried to murder the chief expert in the investigation into MH17 crash.

This was stated by Head of the Military Prosecutor’s Office Anatoly Matios, Ukrinform news agency reports.

The actual perpetrator, who is reasonably suspected of the attempted assassination of director of the Research Institute for Forensic Examinations Oleksandr Ruvin, has been detained,” Matios said.

As Matios told, the Military Prosecutor’s Office searched for the killer in cooperation with the criminal investigation department of the national police.

As a reminder, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 (Amsterdam – Kuala Lumpur) was downed by a surface-to-air missile in Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board were killed.
