Ukrainian Security Service preparing ‘surprise’ in release of captives
Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Yuri Tandyt has announced a “surprise” in the process of release of Ukrainian captives held in Donbas.
He said this on the air of Ukrainian Channel 5, Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper reports.
“We are preparing for some specific processes, I cannot say anything now, but believe me it will be a surprise for the majority,” Tandyt said.
He also said the Ukrainian side was ready for compromise on this issue.
“We have to make compromises, if the mass media from the opposite side are telling that Ukrainians cannot come to an agreement, that we are not open and sincere, that we are the junta, and so on. They talk nonsense, but I am telling you that we are ready to come to an agreement, and we will do everything to release Ukrainian prisoners,” the Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine said.
In addition, Tandyt told that the list, which separatists had submitted for transfer of captives, contained more than 40 people who had never committed crimes in the ATO area.
“Moreover, there are people, for example, who have never been under investigation, but simply do not want to go there despite being summoned there. And there are about a hundred of people with nicknames, odd names, whom we cannot even indentify,” Tandyt added.
