498 people, including 347 civilians, are considered missing in Donbas.

Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, representative of Ukraine in humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Gerashchenko posted this on Facebook page.

There are 498 people, including 347 civilians, some of them are volunteers, doctors, are on the list of missing persons, which we use in the work of the Minsk group. There are also servicemen and volunteers, some of them disappeared two years ago, including after the Ilovaisk tragedy. The responsibility of the state is to find everyone, to identify the dead bodies, to honor the memory of the fallen,” she wrote.

She also expressed the view that the process of search for the missing could be intensified with the involvement of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Gerashchenko noted that the intensification of cooperation in the search for missing persons was discussed at the meeting with the ICRC Vice President Christine Beerli and her colleagues on August 30.
