Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered to send the country’s top experts in intercepting Iranian-made drones to the Middle East if state leaders persuade Russian ruler Vladimir Putin to agree to a month-long ceasefire.

Zelenskyy elaborated in a conversation with Bloomberg News by phone that Ukraine has gained unique expertise in intercepting drones, many of which are of Iranian origin.

“I would suggest the following: leaders of the Middle East have great relations with the Russians. They can ask Russians to implement a month-long ceasefire,” the President said.

As soon as the ceasefire is announced, Ukraine “will send [its] best operators of drone interceptors to the Middle East countries.”

He added that the ceasefire could also be declared for two months or two weeks, “so that Ukrainians can help Middle Eastern countries protect civilians.”

To provide background, speaking at the White House for the first time since attacking Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump said the US is continuing to carry out “large-scale combat operations” — more than 1,250 targets have already been struck. Six U.S. military personnel were killed in action.

He said that he took the decision to launch a war against Iran because it was the “last, best chance” to stop the country’s regime.

As BBC News reported, Israel also launched multiple strikes on what it said were Hezbollah targets in Lebanon on March 2, warning that military operations won’t end until the threat is fully “removed”. Lebanon’s health officials stated that Israeli strikes have killed 52 people, and hundreds of Beirut residents have been forced to evacuate to shelters as a result of the bombing.
