Ukraine’s High Council of Justice approves dismissal of Maidan judge Volokitina
The High Council of Justice of Ukraine (HCJ) has approved the dismissal of Natalia Volokitina, the judge of the Shevchenkivsky District Court in Kyiv, who delivered judgments in the cases against Maidan activists, for breaking the oath.
This is said in the statement of the HCJ’s press service on Facebook.
“The decision was made after following consideration of the disciplinary proceedings, initiated at the request of Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Bachun of 5 December 2014, received from the ad hoc commission for checking the judges of courts of general jurisdiction. The decision was adopted unanimously,” the statement reads.
The HCJ identified in her actions the signs of breaking the oath and decided to submit recommendation for her dismissal.
