On March 8 three civilians injured in ATO zone
Three civilians were injured at the contact line in Donetsk direction during the past day, March 8.
As reported by Colonel Oleksandr Motuzyanyk during a press briefing at the Ukraine Crisis Media Center.
“Two volunteers from Zhytomyr regionl: Yuliya Tolmacheva and Sergiy Adamyak, who were injured near Horlivka, received professional medical assistance in Bahmut hospital. Subsequently they were evacuated to Dnipro. Third victim is a local resident of Avdiivka, who was wounded in the yard of his own house with a shell fired by an enemy. This morning, man was hospitalized to the military hospital of Pokrovsk”, – reported Motuzyanyk.
At the same time, as reported by press service of the National Police, woman from Zhytomyr was diagnosed with numerous head injuries, a brain concussion and man was wounded by shrapnel in his arm, as well as an open fracture.
The 36-year old resident of Avdiivka was injured on Sunday evening, when he went into the yard of his private home to collect firewood. At that moment a shell exploded nearby, shrapnel of which hit the man’s head.
Injured man was hospitalized in a city hospital. Currently there are no threats to his life.
Police has opened criminal proceedings under the Article “Act of terrorism” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“The relative decrease in the intensity of enemy shelling allowed for Ukrainian engineers to conduct repairs in Avdiivka. The work of Donetsk filtration plant was resumed yesterday”, – said Motuzyanyk.
According to him, on Wednesday afternoon, enemy had been firing around Avdiivka at medium-intensity for more than 5 hours.
