Government should ensure equal rights for everybody – Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister
The government should ensure all people have equal rights, not estimate the actions to support them.
Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European Integration Ivana Klympush-Tsyntsadze said this, Interfax news agency reports.
During the panel discussion “How to be successful in Europe?”, answering a question about the attitude of the Ukrainian authorities to the announced Equality March in support of the LGBT community to be held in Kyiv on June 12, Klympush-Tsyntsadze said that the most important thing was to ensure the rights, not only speak about them.
“The government’s task is not to support some actions, but to ensure all people have equal rights. I see the task of the government in this, not in expressing our positions on various issues,” Klympush-Tsyntsadze said.
She stressed that it was necessary to implement the earlier adopted laws on protection of rights of all society groups.
The Equality March is scheduled to be held in Kyiv on June 12. The radicals already declared their intention to come up with a contraction.
