Government publishes action plan on Human Rights Strategy

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has published the action plan on the implementation of the National Human Rights Strategy until 2020.

The text of the action plan was published on the Government portal.

The document includes 135 provisions that describe the government’s measures to protect the human rights in the country.

In particular, the action plan provides for:

  • integrating refugees and stateless persons into society;
  • ensuring conditions for the voluntary and safe resettlement from Donetsk and Luhansk regions and meeting the needs of the people who stay in the conflict zone;
  • creating the effective system of release of captives and of their rehabilitation;
  • effective investigation into the hate crimes and recording the relevant statistics;
  • improving the mechanism for ensuring gender equality;
  • creating system to counter violence and trafficking in human beings;
  • ensuring the rights of children, especially in conflict zones, etc.

As a reminder, November 23, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed to elaborate the action plan on the strategy.

The National Human Rights Strategy until 2020 was adopted in August.
