Ukrzaliznytsia to equip railway stations for people with disabilities
Ukrzaliznytsia Ukrainian railways will allocate funds to create conditions for people with disabilities.
This is reported by the press service of the company.
“In 2016, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia plans to invest UAH 1.5 billion to adapt the railway stations for people with special needs. In particular, to equip the stations, waiting rooms and restrooms with ramps and handrails. It is also planned to install lower reduced curbs and sidewalks and ticket offices with lower sills for the convenience of the wheelchair users,” reads the statement.
The company also promises to improve the information boards, pictograms, warning signs. The stands with embossed alphanumeric text and Braille letters will be installed for the visually impaired people.
The parking lots for people with disabilities are also planned to be equipped at the railway stations.
