Ukraine intends to file a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice against Russia for financing terrorism.

Justice Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko said this on the air of Ukrainian Channel 5.

“The next year will be associated with the initiation of a large-sized lawsuit at the International Court of Justice, where Ukraine will sue Russia under the convention [for the suppression of] the financing of terrorism,” he said.

The Minister claims that the evidence has already been collected, the pre-trial process of communication with the Russian party is coming to the end.

Petrenko also noted that more than 700 Ukrainians had filed private lawsuits at the European Court of Human Rights against Russia’s annexation of Crimea and aggression in Donbas.

According to the Minister, “there is a chance that rulings on individual cases may be made” by the end of 2016.
