Play about women’s rights acted out in Ukraine’s Parliament

Ukrainian lawmakers and activists acted out the play “Seven” about women’s rights at the Parliament’s sitting.

As the Human Rights Information Center reported, the world-famous documentary play tells seven stories of women, who are fighting for the rights in their countries.

The part of Mukhtar Mai from Pakistan was read by the Crimea SOS coordinator Tamila Tasheva, the part of Marina Piskalova-Parker from Russia was read by MP Iryna Lutsenko, the part of Farida Aziza from Afghanistan was read by MP Iryna Podoliak, the part of Inez McCormack  from the Northern Ireland was read by MP Ostap Semerak, the part of Anabella de Leon from Guatemala was read by MP Boryslav Bereza, the part of Mu Sochua from Cambodia was read by actress Natalia Sumska, and the part of Hafsat Abiola from Nigeria was read by MP Mustafa Nayyem.

As reported, the MPs and activists wanted to draw attention to the problem of violence against women on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

In December, the play “Seven” will be presented in Lviv.
