Teenager Dies in Hospital after Terror Attack in Kharkiv
A 15-year-old teenager, who was wounded during the terror attack near the Kharkiv Palace of Sports, died today in a hospital in Kharkiv.
This announcement was made by Svitlana Gorbunova-Ruban, Deputy Mayor for Health and Social Welfare, reports Kharkiv portal ATN.
The teenager received a penetrating head injury and had been in a coma.
Another victim of the explosion, an 18-year-old Mykola Melnychuk who suffered multiple ruptures of his internal organs, is in critical condition. He is receiving expert care.
The explosion, which killed a Euromaidan activist and a police Lieutenant Colonel and wounded 11 people, occurred yesterday at about 1:10 p.m., when the procession of Kharkiv activists had only begun to move from the Palace of Sports towards Freedom Square. Activists from Kharkiv Euromaidan came to celebrate the anniversary of the events of February 22 and to honor the fallen heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, among them Kharkivites Yevhen Kotlyar, Vlad Zubenko and Yuri Parashchuk, as well as those who have died in the ATO.
Markiyan Lubkivskyi, SBU Head Adviser, reported that four suspects have been detained in relation to the terror attack. Other terrorist acts were planned as well: terrorists planned to target a shopping center and club where volunteers and ATO fighters gather using a Shmel rocket launcher received by the group’s leader in Belgorod.
