Houses of Kurultai delegates in Crimea searched

The houses of the delegates of the Kurultai (council) of the Crimean Tatar people in Crimea have been searched.

In particular, the Russian law enforcement officers searched the house of head of the Kurman regional Mejlis Uchkun Devletshaev, the Center for Investigative Journalism reports, referring to head of the Kurultai’s central election commission Zair Smedlyaev.

The house of head of the Kurman regional Mejlis, Kurultai delegate Uchkun Devletshaev was being searched from 8 to 11 am. He was at work then and his wife was not allowed to call,” Smedlyaev posted on Facebook.

According to the media reports, the houses of Kurultai delegates Shevket Usmanov and Remzi Muratov were searched also. The reason for the searches is unknown.
