The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously endorsed the resolution calling for the release of Ukrainian fighter pilot, MP Nadiya Savchenko.

As Radio Liberty reports, the resolution also condemns Russia for unlawful deprivation of liberty of Savchenko and expresses solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

“Being held illegally in a Russian prison, Ms. Savchenko represents the spirit of independent Ukraine. Ukraine, free from interference and ready to accept the will of its people, the pursuit of the rule of law and democracy,” author of the resolution, co-chair of the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus Sandy Levin said after the vote.

According to the official website of the politician, 37 members of the U.S. Congress submitted this resolution for consideration.

As a reminder, Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko is being held in Russian now. Savchenko is accused of involvement in murder of Russian journalists in Luhansk region. Savchenko and her lawyers deny accusations and argue that the pilot had been abducted by the Russian-backed militants and illegally transferred to Russia before the journalists were killed. The trial takes place in Donetsk city court in Rostov region, Russia.
