Two attackers on Maidan activists sentenced in Kyiv

The Obolonsky District Court in Kyiv sentenced Aziz Tagirov and Ramil Islamli, the attackers on Maidan activists from Kharkiv, to four years in prison.

Human rights activist Pavlo Dikan posted this on Facebook.

Kharkiv attackers on Maidan activists from Oplot organization have been just sentenced. Tagirov is sentenced to four years in prison, 40,000 in non-pecuniary damages to one victim, 10,000 in non-pecuniary damages and 1,500 in pecuniary damages to another victim (jointly with Islamli),” he wrote.

Islamli is sentenced to four years in prison with a probation period of three years,” Dikan added.

As far as I know it is the first real sentence for crimes against Maidan,” he added.

January 17, 2014, the members of Oplot fight club, located in Kharkiv, blocked the Automaidan participants.

The prosecutors asked the Obolonsky District Court to sentence them to five years in prison.
