The online services aimed at the interaction between community and police are planned to be launched in Kyiv.

One of the services is a map of district police officers. The other one is the service “Ask a police officer.”

We represent the community in this process. NGO “Kyiv of a Dream” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation is now working on a project called “Interaction between community and police.” The project will consist of online and offline parts. The online part provides for two services – the map of Kyiv district police officers and “Ask a police officer” – the non-operational response aimed to explain the rights and duties of the police to people,” says Anya Ustenko, editor-in-chief of the NGO “Kyiv of a Dream.”

Patrol policeman Oleksiy Ziborov notes that police officers often face problems that are not within their jurisdiction.

People address for many reasons: ranging from questions about how to reach somewhere, ending with floods from neighbors. That is why we plan to create citizen advisory groups to address specific local problems,” he said.

As reported, the patrol police presented a new approach aimed at the community.
