In Kyiv the Head of Institute of National Remembrance Viatrovych attacked (updated)

At 13:30, Unknown people started a fight in front of the building of Ukrinform Information Agency before the press conference of Volodymyr Viatrovych, the Head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.

As reported by Ukrainian News on Thursday.

Several people attacked Viatrovych in front of entrance to the building, the guard intervened and broke up the fight.

It is stated that the attackers were detained before the arrival of the police and the clarification of circumstances.

Viatrovych himself said that the attackers has not presented any specific claims, but only intended to hit him. Half an hour later the situation was resolved.

The police reported to the Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) that investigative arrived at the place.

On Thursday, Viatrovych held a press conference on the working results of the Institute of National Remembrance.

Detainees have not explained the reason for their actions.

“All three of them are not local. We established their identities. One is a native of Cherkasy, one of Chernivtsi and one of Khmelnytskyi regions”, – as reported by Oksana Blyschyk, the spokeperson of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv, to the Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to her, detainees refused to explain their actions citing the Article 63 of the Constitution of Ukraine.
