Avdiivka today: there is heat, there is no light, ceasefire for repairs is maintained only on one site
Temperature of 15-17 degrees of Celsius is maintained in the apartments in Avdiivka, water is supplied on schedule from the reserve, there is still no electricity in the city.
As reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as of 8 am, February 2.
“Heat supply in the city is carried out on a centralized basis by the means of thermal power plant, which works on the natural gas, temperature of the coolant in the heat distribution network is 50 degrees and temperature in apartments is 15-17 degrees”, – informs the SESU.
“Centralized water supply is carried out according to the schedule from the reserve (power plant of the SESU with power of 200 kW is used to ensure the supply of water to the pumping station of Avdiivka). During February 1, supply of drinking water and utility water was organized by the SESU and the community services”, – said in a statement.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine added that there is no centralized power supply. Objects of social sphere, which do not have their own backup power systems, are provided with electricity from 11 generators of the SESU.
One emergency station is functioning (7 tent of the SESU, 1 tent from the charity organization), 3 stationary warming centres, about 4500 people came to the centres. 3 field kitchens provide food.
149 people were evacuated from Avdiivka, of whom 77 are children.
“Hot line” is working twenty-four-hours on the number 101, Headquarters for Emergency Situations is working: 095-215-10-03 and 062-36-315-44.
Pavlo Zhebrivskyi, the Head of the Donetsk regional military and civil administration, reported that “that night in Avdiivka was relatively quiet, although the sound of shelling on the positions of our soldiers could be heard”.
“At 9 am in school №7 in Avdiivka training began. Teachers and students from other schools came”, – said the Head of the administration.
Zhebrivskyi added that military units of CIMIC (Civil-military co-operation) with utility providers are helping repairing the houses, which were damaged on February 1 during the shelling.
According to the authorities, there are about 22 thousand people living in Avdiivka.
At the same time, as reported by Oleksandr Samarskiy, the deputy of the battalion commander, to the Ukrayinska Pravda news agency, on Thursday at 9 am ceasefire regime for repairs of electricity supply was established only on one site near Avdiivka.
According to him, the overall situation is “more or less, partially stabilized”.
“However, mortars are keep firing from the side of the enemy. Artillery fire stopped”, – he said.
Also, according to Samarskiy, once again militants to assault the position, which they lost on Sunday, their attempts were unsuccessful.
As a reminder, from January 29 the situation near Avdiivka worsened, militants are using “Grads” and tanks.
On January 30 at 19:20 the last power line in Avdiivka was damaged, the work of filtration plant in Donetsk stopped.
Currently there is no electricity and water in Avdiivka, problems with heating arose.
On Wednesday, the parties agreed to a temporary ceasefire until 5 pm. Repair crews tried to repair the damaged infrastructure of the city. However, militants have broken the state of ceasefire and fired at the repair crew in Avdiivka.
