June 7, the Lviv Administrative Court of Appeals overturned the judgment of the first instance court on banning the rallies at the time of holding the Equality Festival in Lviv on March 19.

This is reported by NGO “Insight” on its Facebook page.

It is our victory. Lviv, we will come again soon!” the appeal’s authors comment.

As reported, March 18, the Lviv City Council in its lawsuit asked the Lviv District Administrative Court to prohibit any rallies on the Prospekt Svobody avenue for security reasons. A number of right-wing organizations filed applications to hold their events at the same time and place. The judgment to ban rallies was delivered by Andriy Lankevych, Natalia Povar and Vitaliy Martyniuk.

Ukrainian human rights activist Maksym Butkevych said that the practice of restricting the peaceful assembly by methods of Yanukovych had returned to Ukraine.

March 19, the Equality Festival was disrupted in Lviv. The unknown people called the police and informed about mining the Dniester Hotel, where the organizers conducted their events.
