Court prolongs custodial term for ex-Berkut officers until August 7

Judges of the Sviatoshynsky District Court of Kyiv upheld the motion of the prosecution by prolonging the custodial term for five former officers of the Berkut Ukrainian special riot police force until August 7. They are suspected of killing Euromaidan activists.

This is reported by BBC Ukraine with reference to UNIAN.

The next court hearing is scheduled for June 16.

Two of the five accused officers have been behind the bars for more than two years already.

The former law enforcement officers do not admit their guilt.
