Case of Tornado commanders submitted to court

The prosecutor’s office submitted to the court the indictment against members of the former Tornado special purpose police patrol company.

This information was made public on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

“The indictment against the commander, deputy commander and employee of the Tornado special purpose police patrol company of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Luhansk region was submitted to the Lysychansk City Court of Luhansk region. The mentioned people are reasonably suspected of committing a number of grave and especially grave criminal offenses relating to participation in criminal organization, abuse of power and authority, kidnapping, torture, extortion, misappropriation of vehicle and other serious crimes,” reads the statement.

As a reminder, the Tornado company was disbanded in March last year after reports of crimes committed by its members. The Military Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the creation of a criminal organization, sexual violence and murder, and other crimes related to the Tornado activities.
