Russians killed seven civilians, including two children, and injured 43 dwellers of Vilniansk City in the Zaporizhzhia District, including nine children, on the evening of Saturday, June 29, 2024. 

 

Casualties figures confirmed by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and National Police of Ukraine.

The Head of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, wrote on Telegram, a critical infrastructure facility, a shop, and several residential buildings were damaged.

According to Fedorov, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Vilniansk “in the middle of the day on a weekend, in the city centre where there is no military infrastructure and where people were enjoying their weekend.”

Moreover, three people were injured in a Russian attack on the town of Derhachi, Kharkiv Oblast. Viacheslav Zadorenko, the Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, called this attack massive since 2022.

 

“The latest information suggests that four aerial bombs were dropped on the city (reportedly, [these were] D-30SM UMPBs – unified multi-purpose glide bombs). Two men aged 68 and 75 sustained shrapnel wounds and were hospitalised. Another 71-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Pets were also injured,” Zadorenko wrote on Telegram. 

The attack damaged at least three five-storey, two two-storey and 20 private buildings, outbuildings, a garage cooperative and cars of local residents, and one of the civilian businesses. Power lines were partially destroyed.

In addition, Russian Armed Forces killed four civilians and injured seven more in its attacks on Donetsk Oblast on 29 June.

A missile attack on the village of Zarichne claimed the lives of three people in a house: two women, aged 44 and 64, and a 40-year-old man. Additionally, a 59-year-old resident of the village of New-York sustained fatal injuries.

Seven more civilians sustained injuries of varying severity. In particular, a woman and a man in their 60s sustained shrapnel wounds to their legs in Toretsk in a Russian airstrike, likely with the use of KAB-250 guided aerial bombs.

Additionally, two local women have been injured in the village of New-York. One of them is in a serious condition. Two more men, aged 51 and 65, and a 56-year-old woman have been injured in Russian attacks on the villages of Torske, Kurakhivka and Shcherbynivka.

Private households in the settlements were damaged by blast waves and fire.
