Russians killed at least one and injured 14 civilians in Ukraine on June 10, 2024.

Russian Armed Forces hit a residential area with an aerial guided bomb on the outskirts of Kharkiv on Monday, 10 June, injuring eight civilians, according to Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, and Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, on social media. Residential buildings, 70 garages and 22 cars were damaged in different locations. The inspection of the affected areas is ongoing.

Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava Oblast Military Administration, reported the Russian forces attacked the Myrhorod district in Poltava Oblast on 10 June. One person was injured.

On the morning of 10 June, Russian Armed Forces dropped a guided aerial bomb on the Derhachi hromadaі Hromada – an administrative community designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories.. Thereby, one person was killed, and two were injured, according to Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, on Telegram

On June 10, Russians struck the village of Tsvitkove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast with guided aerial bombs. As a result, three people were injured.

United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) reported at least 174 civilians were killed and 690 injured in Ukraine in May, the highest monthly number of civilian casualties HRMMU has documented since June 2023. The number of killed civilians represents a 31 per cent increase compared to April 2024.

According to the HRMMU, the increase in civilian casualties was mainly due to attacks in Kharkiv region since 10 May related to a ground offensive launched by Russian armed forces from the Russian Federation into the Kharkiv region. Attacks in Kharkiv region caused 53 per cent of overall civilian casualties in May.

HRMMU documented 24 attacks on energy infrastructureі 19 attacks in Government-controlled territory and five in territory occupied by the Russian Federation., destroying or damaging power generation plants and electricity substations and temporarily disrupting access to electricity and water supply.

In addition, the HRMMU also documented six attacks on railway infrastructure in Government-controlled territory in May.

From February 24, 2022, to May 2024, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded 32,989 civilian casualties in the country: 11,126 killed and 21,863 injured. The UN emphasizes that the actual losses are much higher.

As for now, it is impossible to determine the exact number of casualties, as Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and the representatives of the ICC have no access to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
