Russian forces killed a Ukrainian Supreme Court judge, Leonid Loboyko, and injured three women in a drone attack. They struck a car in the settlement of Kozacha Lopan in Kharkiv Oblast on Saturday afternoon, claiming the judge’s life and wounding three women.

The Supreme Court confirmed the death of its colleague.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration, reported that a Russian drone struck a car. The attack killed one civilian man and injured three civilian women, who are now receiving treatment in hospital.

The Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the 61-year-old driver died instantly. At the time of the attack, the judge was delivering humanitarian aid to residents.

Moreover, a Russian airstrike on the village of Slatyne in the Kharkiv Oblast left three people dead and at least three more injured that day, according to Syniehubov. He also added that Russian forces hit civilian infrastructure, damaging the premises of an educational institution and shops. People were on the street at the time of the strike.

To provide context, on September 28, Russians struck a hospital in Sumy twice, killing nine people and injuring 19 others.

By way of background, Ukraine urges the international community to unite in restoring global security under the UN Charter and strengthen sanctions against Russia to enforce compliance with international law. Following Russia’s initial invasion in 2014, Ukraine has pursued the liberation of its territories within its internationally recognized 1991 borders, while developing comprehensive reintegration strategies and policies for all liberated areas.

China is providing support to Russia in its war against the people of Ukraine.

During a meeting with Wang Yi on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York on September 28, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken highlighted that Chinese companies are responsible for around 70% of machine tool exports to Russia.

He also noted that 90% of microelectronics imported by Russia originate from China and Hong Kong, which significantly aids Moscow in producing the missiles, armoured vehicles, and ammunition needed for its unprovoked war against the Ukrainian people.

Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stressed that media reports about Beijing’s assistance to Moscow undermine China’s attempts to portray itself as a “neutral mediator” in the Russo-Ukrainian war.

According to The Times, Western officials have uncovered that a Chinese company is sending military drones to Russia for testing and possible use by Russian forces against Ukraine.

A Western official noted that the Chinese company had entered into an agreement with Russia in 2023 and that there was “clear evidence that PRC companies are supplying Russia with deadly weapons for use in Ukraine”.

During a recent address to the General Assembly, Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia plans to attack three nuclear power plants in Ukraine as winter approaches.

In addition, he urged countries to support Ukraine’s Peace Formula, asserting that it is the only path to a just peace. The Formula consists of ten points.

The Ukrainian President argued that other initiatives, including those proposed by China and Brazil, would allow the aggressor state to continue its war against the Ukrainian people.
