Russians destroyed 214 objects of medical infrastructure in Ukraine since full-scale

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, structures on the grounds of 99 medical institutions have been entirely destroyed, which is over 200 objects of infrastructure in total.

“The attacks damaged 1,642 medical facilities of 676 healthcare institutions and entirely destroyed 214 facilities of 99 institutions. The Russians deliberately attack hospitals, maternity facilities, outpatient clinics and clinics,” the Ukraine’s Ministry of Health reported.

The most affected medical institutions are located in the frontline regions:

  • Kharkiv Oblast;
  • Donetsk Oblast;
  • Mykolaiv Oblast; 
  • Kherson Oblast;
  • Chernihiv Oblast;
  • Kyiv Oblast;
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
  • Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
  • Sumy Oblast.

The 8 July Russian missile strike targeted the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialised Hospital in Kyiv, destroying and damaging buildings. In addition, seven people were killed as a result of damage caused by a missile wreckage hitting an ADONIS medical centre in the Dniprovskyi district of the City of Kyiv that day.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to world leaders who are still not on board with the Global Peace Summit to join the collective effort. He called on them to show leadership in advancing real peace, not just a pause between strikes.

Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the efforts of the global majority are the best guarantee that all commitments will be fulfilled.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin claimed that Russia would not participate in the next Peace Summit. He called Zelenskyy’s peace formula an ultimatum and added that Russia would not take part in such summits.

President Zelenskyy announced that six additional countries and organizations have signed the Peace Summit communiqué following the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. Among them are Barbados and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenkostated Ukraine realises the war will end with negotiations. Therefore, it is preparing and promoting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s peace formula.
