Russians attack grain lorry in Sumy Oblast, killing one person and injuring others

Russian forces launched a missile attack on a convoy of grain-carrying lorries on the Sumy-Kharkiv route near the village of Verkhnia Syrovatka, Sumy district, on the evening of August 31, 2024. Russians killed one driver and injured four others.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Sumy Oblast, the Russian Armed Forces attacked at around 20:30. A 23-year-old lorry driver was killed, and four other drivers were injured in the attack.

One grain lorry caught fire, and about 20 were damaged.

Previously, the Sumy Oblast Military Administration reported that Russians launched a missile attack on the territory of one of the hromadasі in the Sumy district on the evening of August 31, 2024. As a result of the missile attack, they killed one person and injured four others. 

To provide background, Russians launched a missile attack on the civilian infrastructure of the Sumy centre on 24 August as well, injuring seven people, two of whom were in serious condition as a result of two Russian strikes.

Earlier, Ghana and Sierra Leone called on Russia to stop the war in Ukraine as it harms African countries.
