Russian strikes kill 2, wound 53 across Ukraine in 24 hours
On September 30 and overnight into October 1, 2025, Russians shelled the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts (regions), using missiles, aerial bombs, artillery, and drones. At least two people were killed and 53 others wounded. Residential buildings, markets, a hospital, infrastructure, and transport were damaged.

The market, residential areas, a garage cooperative, and other facilities were hit. At the market in the Kyiv District, shopping pavilions covering an area of more than 2,800 square meters burned down. In the Saltivsky District, fires broke out in a residential building and garages. Rescuers managed to contain them.
Six people were injured, including a 25-year-old police officer. One victim was treated at the scene, while the others were taken to the hospital.
Dnipropetrovsk region. At night, Russian drones attackedі the Petropavlivska and Pokrovska hromadas – a local government area that includes one or more nearby settlements – in the Synelnykivskyi District. The strikes damaged infrastructure and buildings, including a shop and a pharmacy, and dry grass caught fire. No people were injured.
The Russian army fired heavy artillery at the Pokrovska hromada in the Nikopol District. The consequences of the shelling are currently being assessed, but there are no reports of casualties or injuries.
In Dnipro, the number of victims has risen to 31 since yesterday’s attack, including minors. In particular, a 17-year-old boy sought medical attention.

An airstrike on Huliaipole was reported, along with four attacks from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), nearly 180 artillery attacks, and more than 350 drone strikes, most of which involved FPV drones. The most affected areas were Samiilivka, Veselyanka, Plavni, Shcherbaky, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Novoandriivka, and Bilohirya. Local authorities reported that more than 30 houses, cars, and infrastructure facilities were damaged. There were no casualties among the civilian population.

Kherson region. Dozens of settlements in the Kherson region were hitі , including Beryslav, Bilozerka, Zolota Balka, Veletenske, Antonivka, and Kherson. The Russians struck residential areas, critical infrastructure, and social infrastructure with drones, aerial bombs, and artillery.
In total, one person was killed in the previous 24 hours, namely a man in Kherson, as a result of the morning shelling. Three others were wounded. Five high-rise buildings and six private houses were damaged.
Sumy region. In this region, 96 shellings were identified in 44 settlements in 19 hromadas in just one day. The Sumy, Shostka, Konotop, and Okhtyrka Districts were the most affected. The Russians carried out about 20 airstrikes with guided bombs, more than 20 drone attacks, and 10 shellings with multiple launch rocket systems.
Four civilians were wounded: a 54-year-old man in the Hlukhiv hromada, a 79-year-old in the Konotop hromada, a 36-year-old in the Velykopysarivska hromada, and a 46-year-old woman in the Putivl hromada. Damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in several hromadas, including damage to houses, administrative buildings, a hospital, and cars.
The authorities, together with the State Emergency Service, police, and volunteers, evacuated 12 people from border villages. In total, the air raid alert in the region lasted more than 21 hours.
Donetsk region. In the Donetsk region on September 30, the Russian military killedі one person in Kostiantynivka and wounded eight others.
Chernihiv region. In this region, Russian forces launchedі a missile strike on a village in the Koriukivka District, likely using an Iskander missile. The attack killed a man, 47, destroyed one car, and damaged another. In a separate incident, a drone destroyed a house and damaged a civilian car in another settlement. Energy facilities in the Nizhyn District were also attacked. Overall, the region was shelled 40 times over the past day, with 16 settlements coming under fire.
Ukraine’s Air Force statedі that, as of 8:30 p.m. on September 30, it has deployed aircraft, electronic warfare systems, mobile fire groups, and air defense systems.
On the night of October 1, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 49 drones of various types, an Onyx anti-ship missile, and four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
As of 9:30 a.m., they had shot down or suppressed 44 drones in the north, east, and center of the country. At the same time, five Russian missiles and drones reached their targets in six locations.
According to estimatesі by the Security Service of Ukraine, Russia has launched nearly 50,000 Shahed-type drones against Ukraine since the onset of its full-scale invasion. Strike drones were used to attack civilian infrastructure, resulting in deaths, injuries, and widespread destruction.
