Russian shelling killed eight people in Ukraine on October 12

Russian shelling on October 12, 2025, killed at least eight civilians and wounded 16 others across the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, the National Police of Ukraine reported.

Two adults were killed by Russian strikes on October 12 in the Dnipropetrovsk region — a 76-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man from the Synelnykivskyi District. A 56-year-old woman was also wounded there.

In addition, other people were wounded in Nikopol and its District: A man was wounded by shrapnel at a gas station around 1 p.m. when Russians struck it with a drone, and a 66-year-old local woman was later wounded when Nikopol was shelled.

Two more civilians died from Russian shelling in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast on October 12.

In Novopavlivka, Russian forces struck a civilian car, killing the driver and his brother. Two sister-passengers, 17 and 19, were hospitalized. Russian forces hit the car twice, burning it completely. The fatal shelling occurred at 7:25 p.m.

Over the past day, Russian shelling killed two people in Siversk and Yuriyivka in the Donetsk Oblast as a result of bomb strikes. Russians launched more than 2,000 strikes across the region during the day, destroying at least 10 residential buildings.

Rescuers fought a fire at a facility in Kramatorsk for six hours.

Two people were killed and four others wounded in the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions the day before.

In the Chernihiv region, a 29-year-old man was killed and a 72-year-old woman was wounded in Semenivka, which is 12 kilometers from the Russian border.

In the Kharkiv region, one woman was killed and one man was wounded in Kupiansk. Additionally, a 42-year-old Kharkiv resident and a man who was attacked by a Russian drone in the Izium District were also wounded.

The day of October 12 passed without fatalities in the Sumy and Kherson regions, but injuries were reported. In the Sumy region, two people were wounded, but the police report provided no details on the civilians’ location or condition.

All those wounded by Russian strikes in the Kherson region were Kherson city residents. Russians first launched drones at a car in the center, wounding three men. Then they struck near an educational institution, wounding one more man. In the evening, in the same District, a drone hit a 62-year-old city resident near a store.

Earlier, ZMINA reported that during the week of October 6-12, the Russian army launched more than 3,100 drones, 92 missiles, and nearly 1,360 guided aerial bombs (KABs) at Ukraine.
