Civilians were killed and wounded, and material damage was reported in the Sumy, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions following Russian shelling on the night of September 30, according to the National Police of Ukraine and local authorities.

In the village of Chernechchina, Sumy region, a house belonging to a family with two children was hit.

All four family members were killed. Rescuers recovered the bodies of a 35-year-old man, his 26-year-old wife, and their two sons, ages 6 and 4.

The regional news outlet Kordon.Media reported that the deceased mother, Alyona Lesnichenko, was pregnant with twins.

Oksana Chernova, the head of the village of Chernechyna, stated that the family had relocated from Krasnopillia after their previous house was damaged by shelling. Because Alyona was originally from Chernechyna, the family had decided to live in her parents’ home.

Neighbors confirmed the Lesnichenkos had moved in recently and were expecting twins. After the strike, only ruins were left of their house, with the roof and walls destroyed. Washed baby clothes, which had been prepared for the infants, were still hanging in the yard.

In the Brovarsky District of the Kyiv region, a 75-year-old woman was injured by a drone strike. Medical personnel provided her with assistance at the scene.

Additionally, energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region was targeted during the night.

As a result, at least 28,000 people in the city of Bobrovytsia and nearby settlements were left without electricity. Specialists have begun restoration work, but will continue to work with caution due to the security situation, as Russian forces continue to bombard the border region on a daily basis.

Previously, ZMINA reported that the Russian military fired dozens of drones at Ukraine, injuring civilians in the Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
