Russian FAB-250 bomb kills mother and toddler in Donetsk Oblast Attack, another child is injured
Russian army personnel attacked the settlement of Kurtivka in the Donetsk Oblast on the evening of March 25, 2025, claiming the lives of a 3-year-old girl and her 36-year-old mother, according to Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration and the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office.








Russians struck Kurtivka in the Druzhkivka hromadaі . Early reports indicate that Russian forces used an FAB-250 bomb fitted with a UMPK guidance kit against the civilian population.
“Another war crime by the Russians is another terrible reminder that it’s dangerous to stay in the Donetsk Oblast! Evacuate promptly! Evacuation saves lives!” Filashkin wrote.

The bombing targeted a residential area while a family was at a playground. The missile struck with precision, killing the mother and her young daughter instantly. The family’s 15-year-old daughter suffered severe injuries, including shrapnel wounds and a fractured hip, and was immediately transported to the hospital.
On March 23, Russians killed two people and injured one man in attacks on the Donetsk Oblast. The Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported an attack, likely using a Smerch multiple-launch rocket system, on the village of Donetske in the Mykolaivka hromada. The strike hit near an apartment building, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old man at his residence.
Residential areas in the city of Pokrovsk again became targets of Russian armed forces. During one attack, a 76-year-old pensioner was fatally injured while outside. Another local man, 69 years old, sustained mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
The violence escalated further on March 22, with the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office and Filashkin reporting three civilian casualties in Pokrovsk at 13:30. Later that day, at 18:50, Filashkin and the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office confirmed additional casualties: three people killed and another injured. Among the victims was a 41-year-old man killed while in a residential street. A 66-year-old woman was wounded near her house and tragically died during evacuation.

In addition, a person was injured in Kramatorsk. In Rozlyv of Velyka Novosilka hromada, two people were injured in an FPV drone strike.
Three children were injured in Russian shelling of the Ukrainian frontline town of Pokrovsk this morning, local authorities report.
On February 25, Russians attacked the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk Oblast at around 14:20. Filashkin and the National Police of Ukraine reported that Russians killed one person and injured 16, including four children.







By way of background, Ukraine urges the international community to unite to restore global security under the UN Charter and strengthen sanctions against Russia to enforce compliance with international law. Following Russia’s initial invasion in 2014, Ukraine has pursued the liberation of its territories within its internationally recognised 1991 borders while developing comprehensive reintegration strategies and policies for all liberated areas.
Earlier, Bohdan Bernatskyy, a member of the Sanctions Policy Working Group of the Crimean Platform Expert Network, revealed at the Third Parliamentary Summit in Latvia that over 1,300 Russian military companies and 2 million industry workers continue operating, many without international restrictions.
