Russian drone attack on Kherson minibus kills 2, wounds 16
Russian military killed two civilians and wounded 16 others at around 8:30 a.m. on August 8, 2025, when they attacked a minibus with a drone in Kherson’s suburbs, according to the Kherson Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, and the National Police in the Kherson Oblast. During the rescue operation, Russians launched a second attack, injuring three police officers.

Investigators determined that the Russian drone struck a public transport traveling in Kherson’s suburbs. The drone hit all the victims inside the bus.
Medics took all the injured people to a hospital. Police said two people remain in serious condition.
Later, when police removed the bodies of the two victims from the bus, Russian forces launched a repeat attack on the bus with an FPV drone. The second strike gave three police officers concussions.
The Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office opened a pre-trial investigation into a war crime that led to deaths (Article 438.2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code).
ZMINA also reported that Russians injured a 13-year-old boy in another incident by dropping explosives on him in Kherson.
On the morning of August 4, Russian forces killed a 46-year-old man in an attack on the village of Antonivka in the Kherson Oblast, according to Prokudin.
