The Russian armed forces struck Dnipro city, killing 21 people and injuring about 300, according to local authorities. Another two people were killed and nine more injured in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast as a result of a Russian attack on Samar.

Prior to the strikes, the Ukrainian Air Force had issued a warning about the potential use of ballistic weapons by Russians and reported two high-speed aerial targets heading towards Dnipro.

The local authorities stated that the figures are still being verified, and the number of those affected by this attack continues to rise.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov reported that 19 schools, 10 kindergartens, a vocational school and a music school were damaged in the Russian attack on Dnipro.

The strike also damaged three out-of-school education institutions and a social security department. Additionally, it damaged eight medical facilities: a hospital, outpatient clinics, and a dental clinic.

The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office updated the casualty figures: as a result of a Russian Federation missile attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, 17 people were killed. More than 200 people were injured, including 19 children.

Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, reported that there is significant destruction in the city. Infrastructure, educational and medical facilities, administrative buildings, buildings of the State Emergency Service (SES), and a passenger train were affected. 46 apartment buildings, 41 private houses, several dormitories, and more than a hundred cars are damaged. In addition, a gas station, a car service station, outbuildings, shopping pavilions, and stores have been hit.

Officials also confirmed that passenger train No. 52 from Odesa to Zaporizhzhia sustained damage.

Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) issued a statement, in which it reported that a Russian missile had hit near the train. There were no fatalities, but some passengers were injured. They are currently receiving medical assistance. Ukrzaliznytsia called the Russian attack terrorism.

Ukrzaliznytsia passenger service spokesman, Oleksandr Shevchenko, wrote on Facebook that the blast wave damaged a train “full of families with children returning from vacation” and dozens of people were injured.

“There are several dozen people with cuts from broken glass. First aid was provided by conductors, but credit should also be given to the emergency workers and ambulances who arrived quickly and helped direct more than 500 passengers to shelter in the metro, from where most people made their own way to Dnipro,” Shevchenko reported.

According to Lysak, as of 8:27 pm, 279 people sustained injuries, including 29 children.

On June 25, Lysak reported that the fatalities in Dnipro increased to 19 and, as a whole, in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, to 21.

“Condolences to all who have lost relatives and loved ones. The number of residents who were injured has also increased. There are more than 300 of them. Thank you to the doctors. They are keeping vigil over the people who remain in medical facilities. They are doing everything to save and restore the health of the victims,” Lysak wrote.

On June 27, Lysak reported that the death toll from a Russian missile strike on Dnipro has risen to 21.

Previously, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that 100 days have already passed since Ukraine accepted the US proposal for an unconditional ceasefire, but the Russian Federation continues to ignore calls to stop the shelling and kill civilians.

Previously, Bohdan Bernatskyy, a member of the Sanctions Policy Working Group of the Crimean Platform Expert Network, revealed at the Third Parliamentary Summit in Latvia that over 1,300 Russian military companies and 2 million industrial workers continue to operate, many without international restrictions.

By way of background, the war in Ukraine has not ended 24 hours after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, as he promised. His further attempts to facilitate an unconditional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine have also failed.
