Russinas killed one person and wounded at least 30 people. The attack damaged 14 apartment blocks and more than 40 houses, caused fires, and disrupted power supplies. Early reports indicate that one person was killed and 22 were injured, including three children.

Fedorov reported that among the injured are three children – boys aged 9 and 10 and a 16-year-old girl. He also said that 235 people had sought assistance from social services and district administrations following the attack. Meanwhile, in the evening address on Aug. 30, 2025, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he discussed Russia’s war against the Ukrainian people with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“I have just spoken with Indian Prime Minister Modi about what is currently happening,” Zelenskyy said. “Russia continues the war, continues the killings. It is important that the Indian Prime Minister supports the idea that a ceasefire is needed, and then it will be a clear signal that Russia is ready for diplomacy. We expect this to be voiced during meetings in China.”
The head of the Ukrainian state added that the Russian leader has no intention of ending the war and is trying to evade sanctions.
“Putin is just confusing leaders and getting them involved as his accomplices,” Zelenskyy said. “He rejects the threat of sanctions, delaying them in this way. Nothing else interests him. It’s important that we pressure Russia together to end the war.”
Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, confirmed that Russia intends to continue offensive operations against Ukraine.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Gerasimov said: “The tasks of the special military operation (the Russian term for the war against Ukraine) by the Joint Grouping of Forces will be continued by conducting offensive operations. Today, we will clarify the tasks for the groupings of forces in various directions for the autumn period.”
Zelenskyy also reported that he received an update from National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, who returned after negotiations in Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. According to the president, each of these countries expressed readiness to become a platform for negotiations on ending the war.
Additionally, the head of state is awaiting a report from Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak after his meetings in the U.S., including with Special Representative Steve Witkoff.
“We are preparing for meetings in Europe this week,” Zelenskyy said. “We are doing everything to ensure a firm reaction to Russia’s actions.”
Zelenskyy noted on August 29 that following the meeting with the Russian ruler in Alaska, Trump expressed his willingness to wait “a couple of weeks” for Russia to agree to a bilateral meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy, and that this deadline is approaching.
