Russia not to cooperate with ICC on crimes in Georgia
Russia will not participate in the investigation into the war crimes in Georgia during the war in 2008 as it has not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
This is said in the statement of the Justice Ministry of the Russian Federation, Radio Liberty reports.
“As of February 1, 2016, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court is not ratified by the Russian Federation and has not entered into force [for Russia],” the Ministry’s press service reminded.
As reported, January 27, the International Criminal Court approved the start of the investigation into serious crimes committed during the war in Georgia in 2008.
