Rescuer killed in Russian attack on Dobropillia
A 32-year-old firefighter died in Dobropillia, the Donetsk region, as a result of enemy shelling on the night of March 8th. Additionally, the number of people injured in the Russian attack has risen to 33, as reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk Oblast.

“Vladyslav dedicated himself to the cause of protection and rescue, making people’s safety his mission. He lived so that others could feel safe. Eternal memory to the Hero!” the agency wrote.
It is reported that at the moment when Russian occupiers launched a devastating strike on residential areas of the city, Civil Protection Service Sergeant, firefighter-rescuer of the 52nd State Fire and Rescue Unit Vladyslav Hostiev was at home during his off-duty hours. Upon hearing the first explosions, he rushed to help the victims without hesitation.
Vladyslav’s life was cut short by repeated shelling by the Russian army.
Additionally, the number of casualties in Dobropillia has increased to 33 people. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.
“11 killed and 33 wounded – these are the consequences of yesterday’s strike on Dobropillia as of 13:00. All the wounded have been provided with medical assistance,” he wrote.
The official also published a video showing the aftermath of the Russian attack.
On the night of March 8th, Russian forces launched a combined attack on the city of Dobropillia in the Donetsk region, preliminarily with an Iskander-M missile, Tornado-S MLRS, and a Geran-2 drone. The attack resulted in at least 11 deaths and 30 injuries.
Later that same day, the occupiers dropped five aerial bombs on the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, injuring four people in that attack.
