Verkhovna Rada adopted appeal to the parliaments of foreign countries and international organizations to condemn the escalation of the armed aggression of Russian Federation against Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) news agency, this resolution 6039 was supported by 258 people’s deputies.

Author of the appeal Svitlana Zalishchuk, the People’s Deputy of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc political party, stated that in this resolution “we appeal to the corresponding international organizations to investigate war crimes and crimes against humanity”.

According to her, the resolution also appeals to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, so that “appropriate evidence, which was investigated by our law enforcement officers, as well as international non-governmental organizations, will be transferred to the International Criminal Court”.

At the same time, during Zalishchuk’s presentation a video was shown in which military equipment of militants was shelling areas in the vicinity of residential buildings.

Iryna Herashchenko, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must turn over this appeal, together with released video, to foreigners.

“Our colleagues lack visualization… I urged the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to instruct secretariat of the VR to ensure that our partners received the appeal with the video. They must see what is happening these days in Avdiivka”, – she said.

As a reminder, earlier on Tuesday, Verkhovna Rada failed to include this resolution in the agenda and, therefore, to adopt this resolution-appeal.
