Checkpoint in Zolote, Luhansk region, may be opened this week
The entry-exit checkpoint in the town of Zolote, Luhansk region, may be opened at the end of this week, if the parties do not open fire.
This was stated by Head of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civilian Administration Heorhiy Tuka.
As posted on the Administration’s page on Facebook, the progress of works at this checkpoint is in the final stage.
The premises for the border guards and fiscal services have already been built, the sidewalks for pedestrian passage have been made, the ground for installation of a tent of the State Service for Emergency Situations, the toilets, the information stands have been prepared.
“The planned capacity of the checkpoint is 1,500 vehicles and more than 5,000 people on foot per day,” Tuka said.
The entry-exit checkpoint near Zolote was closed in May 2015 and not a single checkpoint to the ATO area operated in the region up to October 27.
